Josh Ramsay and his melodies are insanely good. Still to early for me to rate but Dearly Departed, Forget Me Not, One Love and Who Do You Love are all standouts at the moment.

JonEthan, you're not the only one who has said exactly the same thing in a similar conversation... & I can understand that.
I'll give credit to Ramsay for one thing: Staying with his band. Of course, he's probably making a squillion from his songwriting for others, but still.

This album is pretty awesome not gonna lie. I love that they can blend the emotion of their punk(if you can call it that) roots but make it so damn danceable.

Well fuck, I am 22 and I quite enjoyed this record, so maybe you're onto something, Davey.

Yep, that's my birth year. For what it's worth, this ain't my favourite album of the year so far; Steven Wilson's pretty much got that locked for me.
Review's pretty damn good too, not gonna lie.

And Marianas Trench is probably one of the only bands of their kind I check out in rotation, if im honest.

But even you relative young un's have surely heard 'Footloose' & 'Sweet Dreams', at the very least. 'Money For Nothing' & 'She Drives Me Crazy' went to #1 in many countries as well.

Damn, right on point with the pilfering after all. It doesn't bother me too much, I just prefer them playing their own thing rather than channelling as many other artists as they possibly can, the way they bounce around feels really disjointed in places here. Still definitely enjoying it though, but doesn't hold a candle to their latest two lps

Pretty well summed up CtD. And yeah, I usually like bouncing around. It works sometimes here, but they do it so much that it also fails a lot.

Pleasantly surprised with how re-listenable this still is.
