tfw they played a 15 minute encore at the LA show with material that doesn't show up anywhere else on this release and a lot of it was by far their best live material

well i edited it, been a while since ive written anything to i guess i got a little carried away.
sorry about that.

"hype might've not taken this submission seriously."
obviously he did tho, the 'serious' thing is irrelevant anyway.

might've
and agreed, but what isn't

i mean writing like that is fun and thats why i do it i guess this just isnt really the place to be posting it.
definitely dont think im infallible though didnt mean to come off that way, youre points werent wrong.

its just easy to take it that way when ur criticizing someone and their response is "i don't care" lol
i appreciate that you actually did acknowledge the criticism, although i hope you didn't just overhaul the review for the sake of shutting us up. i think there are ways you could have worked the topic of empiricism into the intro paragraphs in a way that came off a little less subjectivity ridden and preachy instead of just discarding it all together but thats up to you in the end.
when you put one artist on this pedestal as the only artist that transcends empiricism its much different than merely discussing how the artist or the album may attempt to do that without sticking them on the top of a hierarchy like a musical star on a christmas tree lol. just think you could have talked about that more objectively and it may have been successful. just gotta be careful about getting overly metaphysical about the whole thing or it starts to come off self-righteously dogmatic.

yeah i agree i just sort of wrote it and published it in one draft which i should know by now is never a good idea. i just wrote today because i finally had a day off so i guess well see if i ever revisit it. its just kind of there now.

word
well sorry for being so persistent, it just rubbed me the wrong way hard when i first read it
|

no hard feelings man its all cool, i guess i was just a little rusty in the self-awareness department lol.
|
| |
sall good if we are having a shared moment of self-awareness its fair to say i probably wouldnt have felt quite as agitated if it wasn't for an artist that i already have a predisposition against.

"sorry hype its just such a turn off to read this kind of hyper-fellating hyperbolic praise"
those are his trademark namesakes tho

Very excited to jam this

I caught Autechre live when they came to Boston. They played in complete darkness the entire time. No stage lights at all. I was wondering if the set was just created on the spot as they were performing, so I guess this answers that.

Top argument.

For the record (since I know everyone is dying to know) I think Gyro and Pots are right. Sure, we don't have to take everything hyper-seriously (heh) on this site but I think it's reasonable to expect all contributions to be of a certain standard, regardless of who submits the work.
Credit to you, Hype, for reading the criticism and taking the time to make changes. That's highly respectable - the "who cares ur 2 srs" angle is not.
