I seem to like this more than most people, and I don't really get why. This is some really good songwriting.

Took me like 15 listens to realize that "Wildlife in America" is about American Soldiers in the middle east.

How does this compare to archipelago?

less folk, more full on indie-rock. I like it better than archipelago, but that is not the general consensus. Check "Filaments" and "Radio Silence".

Had the hardest time finding this, kept searching for 'Stillwater'--damn you, ''Almost Famous''!

Jamming the new one, I feel they went all dark with it, interesting.

Uf the new one is not gonna be for everyone.

Empty Orchestra is clearly my highlight but the album is veeeery low tension and opaque. I am gonna need a few listens. Sounds great though.

Just came here to echo Dewi's sentiment with the identical caveat that just because it's not for everyone doesn't make it bad. Veeerrryy slow and atmospheric. I also loved how it sounded though, so multiple listens will be needed. Also the artwork is incredible.

Yeah man, I dig the whole gloomy and melancholic vibe, but gotta be in the mood. Production is top notch, definitely headphones material.

I just listened to The Great Awakening again, and it sounded pretty remarkable on second pass. Definitely feels like a grower. I'm more intrigued by it than any Shearwater album in a long time.

normally we don't agree on what's good

I thought that was pretty obvious or maybe I'm just way too optimistic to the point that no one can consistently agree
