Apart from the closer, the album is such a fantastic listen. Gorgeous melodies and the darker sounds are even more fitting.

Also it might be Winterhalter's most dynamic and best performance of all their records

"is this really better then Ecailles De Lune though?"

Judging by your rating you probably know, as do many others.

There are a few reasons why Ecailles will probably always be the best. Apart from the songwriting, it's primarily the gorgeous guitar tones and the stunning closer; very few people have a piece like that in them let alone two, so one can't really blame Neige for not making a song of that calibre again. I dig this a lot though.

i think Ecailles pt. 2 is better than the closer but agreed it's breathtaking. those guitar tones are unbeatable

Ecailles has a very unique sound for sure, but there really was no reason to make Ecailles 2.0. It's a great record, but this one is everything I wanted from a new Alcest record.

Whole Ecailles t/t is tied with the closer, can't personally say which one is better than the other tbh

Yeah never really heard a guitar tone quite like that (besides Le Secret re-recording obviously) . It's the sonic embodiment of ethereal beauty as gay as that sounds.

closer is almost too repetitive which makes it lose points. if it was like 5 mins long it could just be the best on Ecailles

Glad you say almost ;/ I think it's an appropiately slow and poignant building up. The second half's key change compliments the first so well, they are made for each other.

The second half of Faiseurs De Mondes is probably my favourite Alcest moment though

I'm still taking this in. Probably jumping the gun with a 5, but I'm in love with this.

Hey, go with your gut man, ratings aren't set in stone.

Onyx is pretty cool but I find it be a bit weak as far as closing the album goes.

The bonus track honestly feels like the real closer.
