I would not have any problems with people pointing out similarities in style, because he's obviously very influenced, especially by MJ. But just today I've read two (german) reviews of this album that basically declare him the savior that pop needed after M.J. and Prince.



Also yeah, he's been hyped up a long time and tbh I think the first three EPs even deserved a considerable amount of hype.

Hate to see how manufactured and marketable he's become since the EPs. That's not to say he was ever a lyrical genius, but there was at least some unique production even up until Kiss Land. Oh well. I don't blame him for selling out.
