Not very djenty, but the band has a history with the dj0nt. I really dig because they got over that hurdle.
Ordered one of the LPs yesterday too!

I wish there were a few less sampled chipmunk vocals here and there, but this was surprisingly solid when I re-listened today whilst not baked out of my tree. Like anything pop, it was euphoric when I was.
Now that I'm on the wrong side of my 20's, I'm favoring metal more and more that doesn't stay too heavy for too long, nor carries a depressive atmosphere. Don't have time to dwell in that shit. So suddenly all this great stuff is coming out at the right time in my life....TesseracT's new direction....Skyharbour....now this. This is pretty damned slick.
Bloc, we seem to agree on a lot, so I think you'll like at least a few tracks here.
Bubbles and Neon are favorites so far.

Sounds good man, I'll keep my ears open for those in particular.
You ever hear Vola - Inmazes? You would like it a lot I think.

For all its melody it's easy to forget how technical these guys still are. The drumming is near-perfect and that dude can play the guitar. His style is so clean and dynamic.
Getting a Devin Townsend Project vibe from this too, especially "Addicted!"
When they layer and play with the vocals, I'm shocked to say, he's even a little bit like a breathy Stephen Christian of Anberlin, and I think I'm saying that as a compliment.
Might be futile to keep making comparisons, but I love the ones I get to make.
Finding bands like this is the whole reason I joined Sputnik in the first place. Love it.
Edit: I have not heard of Vola/Inmazes! Will have to check it out, thanks for the rec

I love the energy on this so far. One of the first albums recently to stand out this year for me.

Are there more bands like this? This is really sweet! Kinda sounds like Polyphia but with vocals and a lot more atmospheric

Skyharbor might be the closest band to this but even I'm not entirely sure.

Skyharbor is very boring and doesn't have this happy atmosphere

stay was a seriously off-putting song, won't be checking anything else from this
|
| |
however i was positively surprised how 'un-djenty' it was!

Curious - what's off-putting about it to you?
|
| |
uh, where should i start? ridiculously clean vocals, annoying showoff guitar solos, 'heavy' chuggachugga riffs over cheesy synths... the drummer seems talented but that's about everything i liked about it

This is very good. Reminds me of a more realized, bouncier Astronoid.

To be fair, Stay might be the weakest on the album

Great review. Haven't heard it yet, but I'm going to. Micic is also teasing an album drop tomorrow, so this is turning out to be a crazy week!
I'm not a fan of the production on the singles and Zytecki/Disperse's post-Journey work though. Hopefully the guitars aren't as overpowering as they normally are.

transcendjental
i bet this sucks just like every other djent ever that isnt meshuggah

Oh Zytecki is in this band?? No wonder, the name was familiar. And now I also see that I've rated their 2013 album lol
