Surrender is the only track on the album that's djent. Surrender is also the only track with any real teeth to it. Wish this was a little heavier, but super interesting album. Sleeping Ivy and Does It Matter How Far? are awesome. And those soft guitar melodies are just so sweet like candy. Seems Jakub took a much more minimalistic and atmospheric approach with the guitar playing on this.

Yeah, I wouldn't call this album djent. I only brought it up because their last album certainly was (and they've evolved past that) and, well, they decided to stream on itdjents.com

Zytecki's also just been very involved in djent since people started bandying the term around.

Disperse's second album was definitely a "djent" album, as was much of the solo stuff Zytecki's been putting out.
That actually makes this album all the more impressive. Journey was a terrific addition to the canon of jazz-influenced "traditional" prog, Living Mirrors was a misstep into trendy modern prog conventions, but this is something fresh and unique entirely. All before the age of 25.

Sitar - you've got it right, man. Amazing that Zytecki was around 15 when Journey was released. And I'm pretty sure the rest of the band are close in age as well, making it just as much an accomplishment for them.

I was reading somewhere that "Living Mirrors" was based more on solo material Zytecki had written and felt that it really showed. Here's hoping we keep and continue with the material from Foreword.

This is ok, it could really grow on me if I jam it on repeat, it's really well written and produced, although a bit too much reverb?

This is good. But I'm way more hooked on Micic's album. Someone review it por favor.

"Yo Atomic, you writing a review for the new Micic album?"

I dunno - I have a lot of time this week (my wife is away on a business trip), but I didn't feel that compelled one way or another by my first listen.

"I didn't feel that compelled one way or another by my first listen."

I was a little underwhelmed by the overall mellowness and lack of vocals until the title track. That woke me the right the hell up.
