It might benefit from that. It is also a pretty ridiculous album and over the top album, two qualities that aren't necessarily plusses to many people. It might just very much not be your thing.

Found this extremely immediate tbh, Silent Treatment + Hive Mind are instant classics. Can see Minnesota and maybe Please being growers, but this is basically banger after banger

Maybe I'm just destined not to understand it, this probably is a little maximalist in much of its approach for me (not necessarily always a negative, but here... yes?). I didn't unearth any sense it even contained these supposed 'bangers' tbh

And it was indeed very immediate for me as well, but I was a bigggggg FB fanboy at the time, so I thought it might have been my prejudice Johnny. Good to learn that it wasn't only that!
Also I think I liked this soooooo much because I did not like the two solo disks the dude had released up till then. This being totally my thing right away was a big big surprise.

Oh weird lol yeah - I only caught the last few songs of his set and didn't realise who it was (had no idea who was supporting before). Would probably have chatted if I'd realised he was in Fuck Buttons. One of the Paces hung around signing things, but they'd sold out of the new vinyl and I already owned all the good cds (and didn't exactly have anything to say beyond gawky love_ur_band chat)
