The opening of that song alone is enough to make it dog shit, which it is.

I think the issue I have with it is just it feels like an aging band churning out 2-3 by the book cool songs for their long standing fanbase and then injecting a bunch of newer style things for the newer listeners that aren’t familiar with them and it just feels disingenuous. Darkest hour never had open chuggy breakdowns or super crisp drums that sound like they were programmed before they were played through their golden age.

"Unpopular opinion, but this is the best DH record in my eyes"
Literally 90% of sputnik declared this the best Darkest Hour album. People who had never rated a DH album declared it their best. People ate it up.

"I don’t even mind cheesy acoustic guitar and cleans if it’s done in a cool way, just my god man what a mess of a song"
It is their last year to be a band, leave Sum 41 alone.
