But what if you "Just Can't Get Enough"? . . . you're right, there's nothing new here, but it's a nice listen for fans.

Haven't checked new DM since Playing the Angel (which is a good album). So far this sounds tired in comparison.

I meant heard, oops. I have all their critically acclaimed albums downloaded but I've only listened to Violator (which is a strong 4.5)

That's because it's kinda a little bit sh't. Just a light crust of bum flakes around the edges...but they're there.

And they smell, I think I might have breathed one in.

Judging from you saying this sounds like everything they've done in the last 30 years you don't even like the band to begin with Doof

'Violator' is the only full album I like but for sure you could take my fave 20 Depeche Mode songs on one disc and it'd be a 5.

They're just very very middle of the road, a dad rock punchline in the UK, the band your boss who wears jeans and a tucked in shirt to work thinks are edgy because Gahan had a drug issue and built up a certain debauched mythology around himself.

If I had to pick my top 10 bands I'm really surprised Sputnik gets excited about DM would be up there for sure. Certainly not bad...certainly not in any shape or form exciting.

The political stuff here sounds like latter day U2. Look at how latter day U2 are treated here. Then think about that.

the rym thing is also partly because, amazingly, people still have not been able to move on from the Alan Wilder years
