It was consensual until it was not, it's very simple. He penetrated her without literally any warning or communication whatsoever. Just because it was not sexual assault does not mean it wasn't rape. No consent=rape.

regardless of her consent to the foreplay prior, you should stop having sex once the woman you were having foreplay/sex with falls asleep... like i'm sort of shocked that this needs to be said.

now, the fact that he DID try to pull some shit to like wake her up might actually say more about his ethics/morals. what concerns me the most is that he started up again while she was sleeping, possibly thinking that if she did give any signs of physical consent (which she probably ended up doing, in a state of sleep or not) then he could put it in (which he did end up doing). I think there's too many unknowns though in this specific case

hook-up culture is actually the main problem imo. I could go on and on about how destructive it is to relationships and how the greek life culture only propagates this culture in colleges nowadays but i mean ive participated in it and if you are smart and make sure there are clear expectations / communications it's very easy to participate in without having any questions of rape occurring
