This review reads like a conversation with yourself, which could be fine, but slightly bothering because I have absolutely no idea what to expect from the album.

To be fair, the album's deceptively simple. Descriptions might potentially have come off as vapid. You're right, of course, that's just some justification for the review's lack of description; the thesis is a lot more interesting as is IMO. What little description is given is as accurate as needed: it's melodic, kinda crunchy, energetic; derivative of a lot of 90s emo and punk music, but at the same time fresh.

i think it's a fine review but i think only people who are familiar with 90s emo will be entirely satisfied with it. and i have no idea what 90s emo really sounds like so

I get that for sure. If anything then, I'd recommend viewing the review (for you) as a recommendation to check out the superior material that inspired this record

This sounds like what I imagine Coheed and Cambria would sound like if they just devoted themselves to straightforward emo.

Good stuff, really like the vocals.

yeah it does sound a bit grunge but the riffs are too catchy to be straight up grunge imo

Not really Con, kind of late 90s grunge vibes on that guitar work. What's your fav track man?

Band admit to having been super into being a part of the emo-revival scene when they first formed a few years ago.

It may be because I am more familiar with grunge than with emo that I feel it that way Blush.

And Con I've read you don't really dig the first 3 tracks, I think they are my fave lol.
