gonzo, I have no strong feelings towards this album other than it being an entirely mediocre mastodon album. i enjoyed the 2 bookend songs and a couple of the longer ones in the middle, but 4/11 really isn't a good tally.

Is there hope for someone who has both The Hunter & OMRTS as "average"? Some positive vibes but if this is a continuation of their sound from the last 2 then I'm not bothered. If it's a streamlined CTS I'm vaguely interested. I get the impression it's somewhere between the two.

Somehow this is a very good album (better than the last two) but still not much sticks with you after listening through it. Unlike Leviathan which I still religiously listen to, like every week.

Is a nice album but , for me, Mastodon is kind of repetitive, tho this album is not that repetitive and has some good tracks in it, better than the last two at least. Maybe like some of you guys say it will grow after some time, for now i'm between the 3 and the 3.5
