IMO gerards voice is as annoying as hell. But these guys are no acception to many of the terrible Pop Punk bands today. As for the lyrics, they could not be stupider. "Im Not ******* ok!!!" man that pisses me off.

HA HA HA HA HA HA I thought Iluvatar's icon was David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust... I just noticed it's not.
Anyway, I liked the album but it seemed that it was too much contradiction with the words use such as "it's fairly superior to, but less fulfilling than (insert MCR's first album here)." Most of the review was like that so I dunno if you were trying to not bash it too much for the sake of that has been done WAY TOO MUCH before or if you like the album and was trying not to say it was TOO GREAT at once.
As for my opinion on the album-- The first to singles are great but the best song will always be THANK YOU FOR THE VENOM... other than that I have totally forgotten what the rest of the sonsg sound like because like the review stated with full truthiness: it's boring.

Ok first off, Necrophagist you really are a closed minded person aren't you. If you listened to it and have that opinoin then good for you but if you didn't listen to this album and started dissing them then you need to stop judging things from the cover and what other people think of it and actually listen to the album. Next guitarchick is right on the fact that the song they did at the VMA's did kinda suck so yeah i hope Black Parade is going to be good because if it isn't then i'll just salute them for their artistic expression cause either way i think they're an awsome band.This Message Edited On 09.10.06

ok, shadowstlker, any time MCR performs live, it's going to suck, its like 2+2=4, that is how bad their live show is. also, if you like this album, then you will most likely like their next album and any other album after that because it they will all probably sound the same.

For one...to say that they fashioned their music to appease to the media is a stupid thing to say. And by saying it...you do take sides. This CD isn't any different than their previous efforts. The only real difference is in Gerard's voice.

This album isn't one material. Its catchy and (sort of) cool, that and its pretty well written as far as this new Pop-Punk stuff goes. Its not really 2.5 material either, IMO.
