I listened to this regularily over the past weeks, and I think I like this less than any of his previous records.

This is still a very good album, but I can't listen to this in full without being distracted by certain parts which seem too long or out of place. This was already true for some parts on Blood Vaults. But while Blood Vaults had a very cathedralic, monastic atmosphere that was very close to his early work, I'm not too fond of the tribal themes here.

All criticism aside, this has been my greatest listening experience of the year so far, even though it's not as 'beverastic' as I hoped it would be.

I think this is on par with his earlier work, if not better, but time will tell if it remains like that.

I think this is pretty ambitious even by his own standard, a conglomeration of elements that could easily conflict but somehow more/less compliment each other and flow pretty seamlessly without sounding too constrained.

I just wish the black metal elements were more prominent.

Yeah every time one of those tremolo riffs comes in I have a hard time trying not to explode. This has made so much more of an impression on me than Blood Vaults

I was into blood vaults but sometimes it got minimally boring

Definitely one of the best metal albums this year if not the best. Metal hasn't been that impressive this year though.
