Some great Deathcore this year, Shadow of intent, Aversions Crown and Lorna Shore all solid releases these guys are amazing.

If we're talking gr8 deathcore releases this year, then that award must go to FFAA

This is pretty amazing! I'd say it's Slice the Cake level, top tier deathcore with actual musicianship and songwriting here. The vocals are a bit silly in some songs, but it's bearable

so sick of people pretending not to enjoy deathcore but saying oh its just a little fun
like shut up you fucking love it its ok
But betray, you also gotta acknowledge that there are people who like only the advanced songwriting deathcore, despite it being deathcore, not because of it. Like me with this band and several others like ovdi, the contortionist, lorelei etc

Lorelei rules, they need new music

fuck yeah they do, so does ovdi. but after the foot pic soliciting incident they might have slowed down quite a bunch
|

If this is top-tier deathcore than it'll probably be as good as an average-sounding death metal record to me

I still have a hard time really calling this deathcore. I mean yeah, there are a few elements here and there, but it sounds more like a progressive/technical death metal record to me

jesterhead, this is a deathcore record, but not one that's brimming with deathcore, actually you could argue that deathcore is only one of the elements of equal importance that this band incorporates into their sound

"Shadow of Intent are a 5-piece Halo-inspired technical metal band"
FUCK. YES.
Gonna jam this right the fuck now.

Last song kinda reminds me of Dimmu Borgir a little bit tbh. Def dig that track the most, but this is pretty consistent throughout.

Incredible album! I'm glad you reviewed this, great review BTW. I'm not sure what's going on with sputnik, this should be in their charts, the album is amazing, excellent musicianship on all levels.
