That's the sense I get too. Anything more like Pygmalion would be great, and I also love the dream pop centered direction a lot of this has.

yeah i'm stoked for what is ever next

One thin about Pygmalion is it was mostly all written by Neil and the drummer had already left the band by the time they were working on it

So I can't ever see them releasing "Pygmalion 2", but i can see something of that style combined with contributions from a full band this time

That would be cool. I know the drummer was into ambient music and said that he wished that he could've been involved with Pygmalion because it's a style he's interested in, so it would probably work well as a band effort, especially if Eno wanted to get involved like he was with Souvlaki.

Pygmalion > Slowdive > Souvlaki > Just for a Day

Random notes...

Slomo is easily one of the best things they've ever done. It does sound a bit like the verses from Moby's The Perfect Life however.

Their most commercial, accessible album to date.

No Longer Making Time has a monolithic chorus.

Go Get It recalls to me Embrace's Near Life a little.

They'll never top Crazy for You.

Guess I'm the only overly enthusiastic one here, but seriously this is one of the best albums I've ever heard, even if I'm the only one who makes that statement lol. There's no telling how many times I've listened since the leak and currently listening to it now. Pretty sure No Longer Making Time is my favorite song from their whole discography and truly one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. I have no doubt this will be my favorite this year.

Zactly. I think that people are taking that statement outta context though. It was supposed to be like a second thought. Like I was gonna move it from a 4.5 to 5 over time, but I just said fuck it and 5'd it because it felt like the right thing to do. Glad I've unintentionally meme'd myself, though I really wanna face palm.
