Thank god for that! And i guess you re right...that was just my perspective, not accurate, there's something about his voice that reminded me of them for a bit...and that nervous feeling, the more metalcore parts...i was trying to say they mix a lot of different styles but manage to be cohesive.

Brodsky teased a Cave In return on his instagram a few days ago.
Mutoid Man is musically alright but their more humorous approach doesn't do it for me when i'm not in the mood. Cave In however did Jupiter, which i can listen to all the time and still find some new details every now and then

I think Bleeder and Helium Head are damn near perfect but I'd be so fucking happy to have a new Cave In record.

i fully agree with the listener mood and the humorous approach...This is a good morning record though. I feel the same with Every Time I Die in particular times, and they fucking rock...but sometimes They're just to "funny" for me ahah
This thing makes me want to know cave in...so you guys recommend Jupiter?

Jupiter is stellar, but don't expect it to sound like this.

UYHS for vicious riffs. Jupiter for atmosphere and beautiful Brodsky vocals. Antenna for a stripped down radio version of Jupiter (still enjoyable). Perfect Pitch Black for a heavier and more ballsy sound mixed with some of the melodic elements of Jupiter and Antenna. White Silence for a better version of PPB.

Also, if you like Oceansize, you will enjoy Jupiter very much (for example, "Big Riff" is similar to "Unfamiliar" both in structure and sound). Additionally, Jupiter really is more "spacey" and atmospheric and damn those vocals are fine.

Pretty much everything by Cave In is wonderful except a few of the really early EPs.
The only thing Cave In did that I think could really be compared to Mutoid might be Planets of Old. Except for the first song, they are all super upbeat and kind of frenetic like this is. Trepanning from PPB also kind of has that vibe too.
Anyway, Cave In is awesome and has a pretty wild array of sounds in their discog. Another album from them would be fantastic. I would love to hear what they try next.

Trepanning for sure has Mutoid Man vibes. It also happens to be my favorite track off of PPB. Good call!

Mmhmm.
I actually thought they only did Antenna for several years until I got on Sput. I figured they were just one of those one off bands that had moderate success with a song or two and fell off like so many others. I was so surprised when I started listening to their other albums and all the different sounds they have experimented with, especially when harsh vocals came into play.

Don’t forget that they started with harsh vocals ;)

Oh, I know, ha. I was almost convinced that it wasn't the same band when I first got UYHS.
