Sounds fucking awful. No one wants a fleshed out self titled we want that Summer 86 and fire.

Self-titled he only worked with one producer, Kenny Beats, like on FM!

This new release he's back to using different producers each track so there's a lot more diversity in beats. Nothing skirts the edge of electronica like this one but still a lot of cool sounds

Big Fish Theory is just one beat maker too. Seems like the second half of the new album is better than the front. Sitting at a 3.5 on first listen.

I've decided i dont like the new one at all. My standards for Vince are high, but even with no expectations for the new album it still disappoints

I've just kinda succumbed to the fact that this style album was just a one off for Vince... which is sad cause it's not like it spawned any new artists trying their hand at this either

I think his latest ones are great but I miss the fuckin energy man. Like that song he did with schoolboy q on blank face where he’s just hitting you with gun bars the whole time… give me more of that Vince staples again

I know we've all heard this before, but I think the listless, flat delivery on the self-titled and RPBMH are very intentional. Not to say that means it's successful for everyone, but personally his delivery on the last two projects draws me in. I listen more closely. Like, what's happened to make you sound so numb?

I think it honestly comes down to "how much of my soul do I want to give to this business?" Vince is very lucid and he's already commented many times on how the music industry feeds on rappers' pain and struggles. Feels like he's numb to the sellout nature of it all

this was his peak I say that with all due respect and as someone who saw one of the first live shows he ever played.

Shocks me nobody ever leaned into this sound after Vince abandoned it (that I know of)
