For a band with Rage in the title, damn is this soft! I could show my grandma this band. Where's the aggression? Who Owns Who is really good though, the Morello solo is pretty tasty.

i refuse to listen to this turd of a band without Zach. igdaf how obnoxious that makes me. He is the heart and soul of what this band is trying to accomplish and yeah also fuq him for not letting bygones be bygones and coming back to his band
|
| |
that's one of the dumbest paragraphs i've read on this site in recent memory that wasn't written by verm.
explain why zach has any sort of obligation to rejoin rage pls. i mean it's not even like their last album was anything above mediocre and the style of music they played is completely obsolete now (as evidenced by this turd).
|
| |
of course he has no obligation. there was obviously some rift in the whole music-making process, from what little information we ever really got about the break-up. I don't think the rift is anything drama-laced, but it would've been nice for Zach to at least try, but we never hear a peep from him. We don't even know if those tracks with DJ Shadow will ever get released (probably not).
while BoLA was not their best, it was above mediocre, but that's subjective so i'm not interested in getting into it about that..as far as their style of music being relevant, that might be true, it might not, but at least I would've liked to see them test that notion out with the full band instead of this frankencrap
|
| |
fuck the slow mo
|
| |
renegades was their last, not bola. and yeah, music is subjective. you got me.
obviously there's a non-zero possibility that a new rage album might be decent, but i've seen enough bands get back together in recent years with diminishing returns to not be excited over the prospect.
|
| |
renegades was a covers album though, right?
you can't count those
|
| |
i've always seen it referred to as their fourth and final studio album, but yeah it's a covers album so i suppose that's debatable. but just ftr that was the "mediocre" one i was referring to. bola was my jam in middle school/hs.
|
| |
i don't really consider renegades because it's mostly covers...
and I agree with your other point. i'm only saying, if they were going to fail, i would've liked to see them fail with the original lineup, mostly because selfishly I want some new Zach material
i did enjoy his song with Run the Jewels
but your totally right. maybe he does come back and lay a fat egg and maybe it's best he stays retired and is only remembered for his past. oh well
|
| |
It's a cover album, but the songs are so far removed from their original forms, it's basically its own composition.
|
| |
and renegades is pretty wack. agreed. except for ghost of tom joad. that's the only track worth anything on that album lol
*edit..i'm probably being too harsh on it though, idk. i just don't listen to that album much if at all anymore

WE'RE THE
RENEGADES
OF
FUCK
I mean funk
|
| |
I mean, this far after their releases, the first two albums are really the only ones I ever want to revisit in their entirety.
|
| |
true, bola saw them drop off a lil in regards to composing a cohesive album
|
| |
wtf is wrong with you guys Renegades is pretty good.
Did anyone listen to Street Fightin' Man? Down on the Street? Zack gets to show off his flow a little bit more on the album, especially Microphone Fiend and Housin'.

Album Rating: 1.5
Lets talk about "Legalize" though; one of the worst songs I've heard this year.
|
| |
yeah i agreed renegades was very solid for what it was a covers album, i thought Zach was suppose to release his solo earlier this year made a video and all?
|
| |
zack is like king recluse now.
maybe he thinks or knows he's lost that fire...idk.
