Like this better than their last i think. Doesn't touch war paint or the debut though

@Hopelust idk hating Miles Apart but in the same breath you love the end of Infinite? that's one of the better tunes on here but even so the new guitarist's big epic finishing moment is to... play like three notes over and over again lmao
@Pots I honestly think the album cover deserves a better album

really? the high contrast low saturation photography and subtle text double whammy is like the pillar of alt

@Rowan, first off, the notes being played "over and over" are a guitar lead backing some pretty awesome chord progressions and heavy hitting drums (not to mention the wonderfully delivered vocal lines of Perdomo just before). They stick out, they have ambiance in their execution, and I'd argue that there's more than just three being played given the lead starts off with a melody before heading into its repetition.
Secondly, this is all coming around at a time that has been building since the start of the song so the punch it delivers is far more effective and aesthetic than three notes being palm muted at 0:00 without backing drums or leads.
Thirdly, the palm-mute-3-note routine feels lazy to me as a TDS fan because I know they're capable of so much more. I look to "A Space to Grow," "Disconnect," "This is War," and "Work in Progress" for simple YET EFFECTIVE starts to songs to back up my opinion that Miles Apart is just ineffective and mundane to sit through. It doesn't hold my attention in the slightest compared to their other works.

I think we might just like different things with this band, lol. Guitar is usually the last thing I care about tbh but that last minute of Infinite really took me out of the whole thing completely

Can't help but love "Ghosts" despite the pretentious lyrics

@ Rowan
Yeah bro, not on here as much as l should. Life gets in the way ya know? After a few full listens, I gotta say my favourite part is the riff in Ghosts. So darn catchy.

yeah the riff in Ghosts is nice. So far this reminds me of Golden Record in the fact that it has some great standouts but overall I'm not too convinced

Sounds very similar to Have Mercy, and in particular their "A Place of Our Own" album. I like this album as a follow up to that, because the newest Have Mercy album is trash.

Yeah I was hoping for more from that album as well.

War Paint is better, but I feel like this is them finding their feet again.
Also the "Do you remember me like I remember you" is great.

Who thought When I Get Home was good when they put this together i swear it breaks the flow so badly

Just heard a song off this and it sounded like a mashup of The Wonder Years and Hinder. Kinda liked it tho.

I miss the cathartic bridges of Reach for the Sun. That album just hit hard. This one is alright; seems possibly on par with War Paint (probably worse). I was not a fan of Golden and this has a similar sound to Golden and I'm OK with it.
