jamming rn after a couple of days and this is definitely a grower. If anyone is on the fence with this give it some time and jam again.

yea me too, but it's a very densly packed album that unfolds all it's got to offer only on multiple listens.
I mean, it's not AOTY material, but it's on my top 5 for sure.

TYLS was meh by their standards

Ehh. I don’t care, it’s AOTY. Bloom still tops it overall because of age but I won’t be surprised if this grows to be my favorite Beach House album. Wish you guys could experience the same rush I get from this album. It’s kinda unreal to me

| |
Album is so tedious tbh. Even tyls was better

I haven't listened to this once since rating it so I'm not sure if that makes me impatient or this album boring.

Listen to it once again, or maybe another album from Beach House. You'll realize that this bad it's just mediocre at their best.

Tis great indeed.
Folk digging this may want to check last month's Night Flowers. Album is called "Wild Notion".
Just throwing it out there.
|
| |
i don't think anything will be able to top wild notion as my aoty
|
| |
It better be way better than this
|
| |
that's a lousy way to look at music. stay away from night flowers, you don't deserve them
|
| |
What about day flowers?

'Teen Dream' is still better than this overall - but this album has a fuller, fleshed out 'latter career confident' thang going for it.
It's a 10+ listen sort of album before you can work out how it's going to carve out a niche in your listening/in their discog.
I still think the Eleanor Friedberger is slightly better but they're both 4.2-4.5 quality albums - good month for female fronted 'dreamy dreams poppy pop' :/
|
| |
I don't understand why you insist on comparing the two
but if we must, that friedberger is duller than this, which is quite a feat

This is definitely a grower not a shower. I’m still not on board with every track but I find myself enjoying it more with each listen. The only song that has grown off me since first listen is “Pay No Mind”.

This is a good album. “L’inconnue” with the Julia Holter vibes
