All the art related to this has been pretty sweet, including the album cover. I really dig the youtube playlist their label put out too, each video has some cool art/animations going on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9M0HOTUvfDM&index=6&list=PL-XbTEkQt3Tah15ba0Ft2cEIibE0ULJ2A

I really liked this bands last two albums but the AAL comparisons make me wary

I don't really hear the AAL comparison, it's more so just an extremely well crafted instrumental album that utilizes all of its parts to perfection. There's a few voice samples here and there as well, although that's my least favorite part of it. That's not to say it detracts from the experience, but this album wouldn't be any less good without the voice samples

I honestly thought that their singer was great and that their last album was better than the first slightly

I know it disappointed the sput users who wanted them to go more experimental but Im totally on the opposite side of the spectrum

Their EP was and still is one of my favorite releases in that subgenre ever, the first album is like that but not as consistent and a tad overlong

I'm not hearing any AAL either, I think this is actually in contrast to what AAL normally do

I'm definitely in agreement with Steak, anyway

AAL is needlessly wanky, this is not at all, everything you hear has a purpose

also the last album is a fuckin incredible album

Christ this album is amazing. The production is on another level in terms of modern metal.

This is a strong 4.5 and maybe 5, mostly for the fact that this is looking like the best instrumental rock album I've heard

Great write up Claire, can't wait to check this one out. I was hoping they would get a vocalist before releasing it but judging the reactions, seems they don't need one anymore.
