whoa, didn't actually realise it was the same ensemble that played on this album until now, but anyone who really digs the sounds made here should check...
'Tokyo Gakuso - Gagaku: Court Music of Japan'
'Gagaku and Beyond' is good too, as is Herbie Mann's jazz fusion album with the same title (although I prefer Court Music of the three)

Saw him perform some of this live, and it was intense. Loudest concert I've ever been to. Hecker came on, blasted us with an experience for an hour, and bounced without more than shyly coming back to bow off the stage like he didn't deserve the applause.
