I feel the same way.
Both are excellent though. =)
I love all his work but his earlier work was the best, for sure.

Quote: His ability to write lyrics with great metaphors is what stands out in his project. With lyrics such as "I want your flowers like a baby wants God's love

Does that mean he doesnt want the flowers? GREAT lyrics pffft

Average album for background music when you do the whole candle light dinner thing with your woman whilst chowing down to steak and baked potatoes "slurp" mmm delicious.

I love this album. =)

I get it's not for everyone. It's very sleepy. Like his first album.

Just discovering this, I've heard some of the tracks before and it's a just a good folk record. I don't find it boring whatsoever (think it's a temper thing), though cinder and smoke could've ended earlier without leaving me too sad.

Snooze@

It's actually a pretty great lyric - unless you see God as some narrow and absolute (pre-determined) creature up in the sky - that is, using God's love (the ultimate kind) as a metaphor for something larger than life.

You don't really have to be religious to long for some lovin'

A baby sleeps in all our bones, so scared to be alone.

Passing Afternoon is perfect. Great album.

Yeah, agreed. Passing Afternoon is definitely one of the best songs on here. Sodom, South Georgia might be my favorite though.
