@gyro
that passage at the end of my review is one of my favorite sets of lyrics he's ever written
also adore the one from bright horses about the train bringing his son back to him

Skeleton Tree had awesome lyrics too in my opinion, but yeah I prefer the lyrics here. Strictly from a musical standpoint, I'm still torn whether I prefer this or ST.

Late to the whole "this will be his last" but considering he's been teasing a Grinderman reunion, it wouldn't shock me if we didn't see a Bad Seeds album for a while (think until the middle of the 2020s...Christ, saying that doesn't even feel right)

2012 was bad.
2011, 2013, 2016, 2019 are best

2015 was worse
2012 has a lot more dark horse/wild card albums which is a lot better than a year with a dozen good albums and a lot of me do ocrity

2015 had a few favourites for me in Carrie and Lowell, Garden of Delete and Get to Heaven.
Also Pimp a Butterfly will be a lot of people’s AOTD
2012 my favourite album is by Breathless - who? Underwhelming year

2013 was the worst year for me, definitely
the year of good ol' crappy sadboi pop punk

Seriously can’t wait to listen to this

2013 was the year where many of my favorite bands, including this one here, decided to release their softest, most subtle albums of their careers for some reason. Hammock - Oblivion Hymns, Queens of the Stone Age - LC, Goldfrapp - Tales of Us, Ulver - Messe, Arctic Monkeys - AM, Deafheaven - Sunbather, The National - Trouble Will Find Me, Intronaut - Habitual Levitations, etc.

Fuck yes to literally every single one of these. LC, Oblivion Hymns, and ToU especially -- been playing them a lot now that fall is upon us again.

Gyro, did you seriously just raise your rating from a 2.5 to 4.0? What gives?

Idk I had a 'moment' with it earlier. First time playing it I didn't enjoy it but then I relistened to a few of my favourite Nick Cave albums earlier today and put this on again and something just clicked.

Pika if you think that's something you should see one of my famous rating reversals

Album Rating: 2.0
I can see why ratings can increase even from a 2 to a 5. But it baffles me how it can go up this quickly. I guess it's one of those 'it clicked for him' situations.

Usually for me its because I rate prematurely but I've also had stuff sit at a 2.5 for years then suddenly it's a 4.5

If I have never heard any Nick Cave before should I start here? These ratings have me hyped.
