Remember when the guys in Green Day did an interview where they said violent video games frightened them?

“Streetlight Manifesto ended their contract in a much cooler way releasing 'The Hand that Thieves' ... speaking of which, where the hell have they been?! I just saw them at Riot this summer”
Palpable fury. Listen to Arrogant Sons of Bitches and the flame of incalculable rage will be eternal.

It will never not be hilarious to me how much Zak hates Jeff Rosenstock

Do you guys realize how much clapping there is on this album? At least 70% of the songs on the album have the "clap" beat that I find revolting. This whole album seems so cheap.
Also holy shit, Dookie came out 26 years ago.

Speaking of Dookie, this album is a big steaming pile of shit.

At least they said it in the cover. Here they added insults to injury.

This album is all about fun. People around here probably don’t know how to do it. Even pitchfork does

I'm so tired of people just slapping "fun" on something expecting that to excuse the literal feces within this album. Pop punk is one of my favorite genres, I LIKE fun music, when it's not just a lazy, headache-inducing """"joke""""

I found it strange that after giving the impression they were evolving their sound again like they did with Revolutionary Radio, the album quickly becomes a "Quatro!" bait and switch. I don't understand why they went back to that style but it feels super troll. I still don't like the vocal filters Billy uses.

I really hope this album is the Reprise-quit joke that some theorists believe it to be. This album IS a fucking joke regardless, though.
I'd kinda like to see these guys start writing heavier stuff. Some hardcore-ish (with an emphasis on the `-ish`) music or whatever, just make heavy stuff. It would most definitely feel less cringey considering their age. The problem might be that they're still trying to appeal to twelve year olds, which I really don't understand.

I love green day but that Fantano review was pleasing.

This album induces migraines. The production is so poorly done I had to take breaks in between songs. The songs are so poorly written I actually tried to figure out how far back I could roll my eyes. easily one of the worst albums of the year, and we're barely even through it.

its probably been mentioned already but that album art comes off as so desperate, like "oh look this album is definitely similar to american idiot, you'll love it, we promise!"

I do think the first three songs are at least as good as some of the trilogy. They grow a bit on you too.

"...At least as good as some of the trilogy"
This whole album is pretty much as good as the trilogy lmao

There's no point listening to the trilogy when Demolicious exists.
