Same here. It's unbelievably accessible which, at least with the kind of music I frequent, typically equates to either basic or shallow. This is really interesting and not necessarily "complex" per se, but absolutely ballsy - and it pulls it off.

I really think it comes back to the compositional strength of this project. No moment feels wasted.

It's so excellent for such a low-profile artist. Of course he had a sputnik contributor as his producer, so no wonder it's great =D

Nothing really caught my attention here after a listen a couple days ago. I just listened again and was really drawn in the whole time for some reason. Flirting with a 4.0 rating, we'll see.
Thanks for putting this album on my radar, Sowing!

It's best as a full listen. Good to see you on board Fuzzy.

best in headphones for sure. panning go wild.
"he had a sputnik contributor as his producer"
this is rarely an indication of quality haha, and in this case i should clarify, i'm the passenger seat guy. andrew controls mix and production, i tweedle with arrangement/performance and am general springboard fella. co-producer but not THE guy

Absolutely, and I surely didn't mean to discredit Andrew so much as ensure that you got your due!
Regardless, I love the production/mixing etc.

i'm getting low roar on 0 vibes but with more theatrics - think their voices are actually quite similar. the album has a really nice flow that's for sure, and i personally really like the production waior, there's a lot of elements to each track but it feels very spacious.

Sweet. Glad you'll are enjoying. Waior and Judah knocked the production out of the park. And honestly, Judah is such a huge talent on vocals. I'm blown away.

Nice to see you enjoying this too Chan. This has the potential to appeal to so many fan bases - pop, rock, progressive...could see this taking off in a big way. I'm just glad it's getting modest recognition here because way too many artists of this nature get brushed under the rug. Then again, few artists like this (what I can only assume is a low budget) sound this polished and larger than life.

I definitely see the potential, I just don't think I find it as realized as other folks there. I actually wish it would let loose a little more often, both vocally and instrumentally. I really enjoy it, and agree with folks who say it's an effortless listen, but it also feels a little bit like a tease at times

Midway through first listen and I'm really enjoying the flow of this album so far - great transitions between tracks

@dmathias - Glad you enjoyed it, but I'm sort of confused by the desire to have it let loose even more. It feels pretty darn loose to me - they go down a lot of unexpected/experimental avenues without sacrificing the catchy melodies or structure. It's like the best of both worlds to me. I get my experimental jollies off this but I also find it, like you said, to be an effortlessly enjoyable listen. Not sure how much more they could have let loose? More experimenting would detract from its carefree aura, but more accessibility/less experimenting would basically just turn it into a pop exercise.
@Dylan - The flow is one of my favorite aspects of this for sure. Each song is so unique but they blend together seamlessly. I also love the trick ending to I've Has Enough of Your Shit - I almost wish it launched into a full gospel track, but it's also perfect as-is.

after listening to it in full I gotta say that there some pretty epic songs like Primrose or Hair of the Dog. On the other hand, the middle appears to me as kind of filler material with some of the formulas of the amazing songs just reboiled and a little dull - uncreative and repetitive lyrics inclusive. I think this would have easily been a 4.5 or even 5 EP if focussed on its strengths. This way it seems there are some world class ideas with excellent execution, just not enough of them for a world class LP. Anyway, it will be exciting to see what this dude is up to in the future. Thanks for writing this review!
