Makes me laugh every time.
There’s not a song here that I actually dislike. The Spanish song is okay for now, but I’m sure I’ll hate it in a week or two.

yeah multiple stab wounds is weak :/ rest of the song is really good though despite Mess's part being a rehash of both Flash and Stroke God. but it sounds dope

Secret Band is at their best when they're aping Mars Volta so that's actually mildly intriguing @chan

This album was cringey as hell. Random song in Spanish cuz why the fuck not.
Awful lyrics like
"MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS!
MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS YEAH!!!"
So many other useless gimmicks throughout the album. I feel like this bands entire definition of creativity is just doing (or saying) random shit to be "weird" or whatever.
They should have gone out with Evaporate. Was a good way to send this band off in to the sunset. This is like some b-roll footage crap right here.

On the other hand, you have the people who constantly rag on DGD for being "formulaic" and "releasing the same album every 1.5 years." So they add some gimmicks, do some different stuff like release a Latin-inspired track with Spanish lyrics, bring back some Swan rapping which hasn't been seen in quite some time, and aren't being creative.
IDK MAN. I just like the band. I'm a fanboy, I'll freely admit it, and everyone has different criticisms, but... meh.

The amount of people crying about this album is hilarious

The ironic thing is, their formula is gimmicks. I pretty much expected to be hit with a 40 minute barrage of gimmicky crap that sometimes hits and sometimes wildly misses which is exactly what I got. My biggest problem is with these last two albums it has all felt so forced and inorganic..There's no reason for a latin inspired track, it's just there "cuz why not". I would have less of an issue with their writing process if any of it felt like it was meaningfully placed there.
I love this band but these last two albums have gotten out of control for me. They need to exercise some restraint when coming up with this crap lately imo.
As for why people think they sound same-y, I think Tilian is a big reason why. I love his singing, I really do... but he sounds the same in every. single. song. Even for me it has gotten a little tiring.

Yea my ears were bleeding.
Yikes, going back and listening through IG to remind myself of peak Tilian is not a good look for this album. Back when their creativity was intricately weaved in to the songs and album as a whole and not served as poop icing on a cake.

Did an experiment yesterday and put this, ArSe, MS, IG and AS2.0 into a playlist and hit shuffle. I'll be honest I could not tell which song was on which album sometimes (ex. I thought Midnight Crusade was on MS for a bit lol), production is always the same (which is not necessarily a bad thing). I think its primarily a testament to their consistency as a band (and AB songs didnt feel out of place at all tbh)

yea, they’re definitely very consistent with this Tillian era (which is both a pro and a con imo)... but it is good to hear that AB songs still fit with their sound among their previous releases
