I don't know what her situation is there. Maybe she currently has someone who controls her output and needs to stop!

Comeback is dangerously close to already becoming a top 5 Carly song for me.
Whole album is great

pretty sure i read an interview where she talked about her selection process and how she'd have a ton of friends over for listening parties and kind of let them decide what songs would make it onto the album

I think she selects herself, saw an interview once. She said she never has a clue to what people will or won't like, and she basically throws away about 200 songs everytime

Makes sense. That's actually a pretty cool way of doing it.

Hell yeah Romulus. He's my favorite producer. From 1989 to Melodrama to Norman Fucking Rockwell, he's put together some of the best pop records of my lifetime.

you ever try red hearse? the album was ~fine~ but there are some classic anontoff tracks on there - 'everybody wants you' & 'half love' in particular

Nope, but I'm willing to check anything he's had a hand in.

Now I Don't Hate California and Real Love are the best of this Dedicated era. the former is dangerously close to breaking into my top 5 CRJ already. also easily my song of the year at this point

Let's Sort The Whole Thing Out is the only track I have a problem with and it's still in that 6-7 range because it's so god damn cute but the vocal melody in the chorus is a bit...wordy? idk. it's still great regardless

Yeah it's the guy from Bleachers. He also used to be in the bands Fun. and Steel Train.

on first listen i think side A is still better, it grew a lot on me and has been on current rotation

Album Rating: 4.5
There's certain songs from Side A that top most of what's here, like Real Love, but otherwise this is far more consistent and I'd rather listen to this in its entirety any day.
|
| |
agree side A better, a lot of slower tracks on side B which kind of hurt the momentum of the album, I will say though that This Love Isn't Crazy is easily on par with Run Away With Me

"Review is #facts"
shameless. maybe deserving of some shame.
Antonoff has been incredibly prolific for the past five years or so, having writing creds on nearly every notable pop record you can think of. And of the hundreds of songs he's written since leaving his former bands behind, nearly all of it is lukewarm, fluffy garbage. He's so lame.
