I'm a sucker for heavy chugs with laced melodic leads, and brutal breakdowns thrown in. Idc if thats considered generic at all. Give it to me in large doses

i can usually get behind some generic-but-good metalcore, tbh jamming this after having listened to the new end all day probably wasn't the best idea lol

new END is completely different is the thing I'd say. It's super intricate, chaotic to the point of being damn near incomprehensible. Which is the point.

I feel like this TGI record is about as accessible as something this heavy gets, on the other hand.

well yea, one's approach to darker shit would def lend itself to being less 'accessible'
the other is cementing its legacy thru what they've always done.

Oh I totally agree, but I'm just saying I can imagine how this album does not follow the new END stuff well on a playlist for example at all

a playlist featuring apples with chainsaw guitars and blastbeats and bananas with anthemic breakdowns.

yeah def, this just doesn't hit the heavy spot or whatever after such a chaotically incomprehensible record. will try again tomorrow, bc this does sound like it's pretty great

This may be the single biggest day for me musically, maybe ever. TGI, END, and RTJ (even though they dropped it early) are all probably 5's. Plus Covet's new album.

What a time to be alive.
