Orestes might be the best song the band has written. That and Vanishing hit me the hardest of their songs.

I thought so too while relistening but then I put that album on. Thirteenth Step edges this out for best APC. Both incredible albums though.

13th is more moody and dark i'd say, while Mer has a "louder" sound. both great. hope they at least pump one more album out. but it's doubtful

maynard shows for the first time his natural humanity as a singer of a band, is not a parody of tool, is not another super-band is just various members of different bands trying to construct a new music era, mer de noms has the potential for those who think that a justice league-music band is an atomic bomb which is going to explode somewhere and they come to rescue the music

After many a listen I have decided that this is the superior APC album. Thirteenth Step is still solid but this has a few more standout tracks. Both close though.
