It shouldn't be that hard to find this. In the past year or so it's started to get picked up ini Best Buy and places like that.

Best Buy has some incredible albums that I would enver think would be there. Such examples are Pelican, Joanna Newsom, and Explosions in the Sky (those who tell the truth shall die, specifically).



This CD is hard to listen to one track at a time for me, it's all or nothing.

This is way to inaccessible. Not just because of the song lengths but because you really need to focus the entire time or less the music just plays aimlessly in the background. This album shows some interesting ideas and concepts but the ambience just leaves me cold. Their best stuff is on "Slow Riot", especially that one song with the whole court case.

I maintain that this album is amazing just because it transports you somewhere else, into a different and strange world that is hauntingly alike the one you know and yet entirely different. All the ambience contributes to that, and then you get these sections of amazing musicality and it all just works.



That said, this is nowhere near my favorite Godspeed album because I have to be really prepared for it and in a certain mood. And granted it can get a little scarce musically. Lift Your Skinny Fists and Slow Riot are much higher on my list.

How does this compare to antennas?

It does not yet captivate me in the manner which you've described. It so far kind of bores me, actually.

I like this album. But Providence is too long.

This and Antennas are pretty much on par with each other, I just like this one more because of the atmosphere. If you like Antennas, you'll like this.
