Edit: Alright so Julia was a loose cannon for sure. I still think as a group they were quite supportive and they attended pride events and stuff. I don’t remember there being any such nonsense at the time of this release/era.

Not back then no, but I’m pretty sure she said lesbians are aesthetically pleasing but gay men are disgusting and if her son were to come out as gay she’d disown him. Russia isn’t exactly an LGBTQ+ safe place so I wasn’t shocked, but I don’t think the band should be heralded as progressive in that way. They used lesbian eroticism to sell their albums, they used it as a marketing gimmick. They are talked of badly in a lot of LGBTQ+ circles for the way they used homosexuality as a mint

There definitely wasn't anything progressive about this band. It was a marketing gimmick, for sure.

"All About Us" is my favorite, but "Cosmos (Outer Space)" and "Perfect Enemy" are definitely tied for second.

You’re all right. In my opinion their lesbian shtick being in the limelight showed that being lesbian was perfectly acceptable, and in that sense were helpful.
Loves Me Not is a forever jam

There certainly wasn't any noble intentions when they went with the Lesbian angle, but they were definitely one of the more mainstream 'lesbian' artists of the time and probably helped with acceptance and/or normalcy.

I've noticed the opposite. It seems like subtlety has gone out the window for any group with an agenda to push.
