Anberlin is very good generally, they're innocent too, I cannot say anything negative about this band even if I wanted to.

Found it, the spoken word in the final 15 seconds of Anthem by BMTH made me think of the spoken word used here in Lacerate.

Mmm yeah that's the dopamine hit I needed this morning, an Anberlin review on the front page of Sputnik in the year of our lord 2023.

Yeah, definitely feels nice to see Anberlin active in 2023.

I don't think I'll be able to ever hold a band as closely as Anberlin. Discovered them when NTFP released in '05. First band I discovered by myself, not through radio or friends or popular media. 15 years old. Every song a banger. I've hung tightly on ever since. Every single song of theirs reminds me of a long-ago time in my life & the youthful mistakes I was making when I was obsessed with each album.
I almost don't want to listen to this yet just so I have unlistened Anberlin. And if I don't listen, I can't be disappointed LOL.
And really, nobody sounds quite like Stephen. His Kermitisms make him shine in a good way. Only the vocalist for Artificial Language comes close. Sometimes so close it's uncanny. My head-canon is that Artificial Language is the heavy side project of Stephen's haha. A GIRL CAN DREAM.

"And if I don't listen, I can't be disappointed LOL."
I am not even a huge Anberlin fan and I can assure you that this won't dissapoint.

That is good to hear! A listen at work might just be glossed over so tonight when I'm wrecking fools in WoW PVP and high as a kite, I'll give this a shot nice n' loud.

solid listen
makes me wish they had released both this and Silverline as a full album rather than two separate EPs

I like his Kermitishness as well! Also, Nomos, we can resume our therapy if you’d like

I’m sorry! It can take some time, especially with the inconsistencies of Sput. I’m here! Shout box?

This is quality and I love they got a little “edgier.” The ending of Nothing More is also a bold choice. Animals and Decoder are awesome.

Sounds like Kermit the Frog after smoking a pack a day for 20 years vocally at times. And I am all here for it. Also Nothing More gives me major Atonement vibes, which is easily my favorite Anberlin track.

I'll give that hybrid album a listen later, Sowing. Right know this is a solid 3.8-4.0
Silverline is easily the stronger of the two
|
| |
I enjoyed the hybrid version, probably would have enjoyed these eps more had they been released like that.

The hybrid version would have been a contender for their best LP in my opinion.
That said, it's the same music, just a different release format. Either way, Anberlin is still hovering around their peak with these two EPs which is impressive.
