My theory is they didn't release Silverline/Convinced as a full length because Stephen isn't in a place to tour and do press for a full length album. So they are already establishing Matt as the touring vocalist so they can actually get into the studio with Stephen to record their next LP.
If my theory is correct then it would be a good idea to feature Matt in a couple of the songs as well, so he is officialized as a member of the band. I think it would be weird to tour for an album and not given the opportunity to record a single song from it. That's the best possible way they could go with such a strange situation to be involved with.
