maybe we should call this "funeral death metal"
regarding the opening of the review, it's really a shame that most melodeath/melodic death metal opts to go the gothenburg worship route or whatnot, because when it's done right that blend of brutality and melody can be so, so damn good (intestine baalism of course)

Album sounds amazing. I find it incredible that a 23 year old album still sounds so good today.
Does anyone know a blog that focuses on reviewing old, forgotten metal albums?

"Does anyone know a blog that focuses on reviewing old, forgotten metal albums?"
this is pretty niche underground Thrash series that's incredibly well informed and put together
https://grizzlybutts.com/?s=Thrash+%E2%80%98Til+Death
THRASH ‘TIL DEATH is a 50 week long set of features exploring the legends who crossed over between thrash and death metal between 1983-1993. The focus is primarily on under-served, unknown, and exemplar bands/releases.
also sputnik! that's what we do here when we can disentangle ourselves from the tantalizing treats of the present but today's unreviewed is tomorrow's obscure gem too so
