The mid 2000's metalcore revival is over. The average bands have found out about it. Pack it up boys and girls, it was fun white it lasted

The album before this ruled but I saw/heard the preview for this in a New Releases article last week and it sounded pretty different, much more mainstream. Am I way off? I watched the Spiritbox preview too, so maybe I have them confused.

@sniff
Oh but on the contrary, it is only now reclaiming itself as the rightful apex predator of the mxc foodchain.
Also @dbizz uhhhh kind of? They do lean more heavily into the cleans and try to get a little less chaotic and a little more bombastic but I do think this album has more dynamics going for it.

Having listened to both nonstop all weekend I lean toward this one. But that KL feature on Fragments rules

One song in and I thought I was back in MySpace era. Overall the album is very disjointed but a good listen if you don’t take it too seriously. Huge throwbacks and influence from As Blood Runs Black, and when Parkway Drive was great and I Killed the Prom Queen. Throw in some grabs from knocked loose and the heavier side of modern core and a few Make them Suffer type female choruses thrown into the mix and that pretty much covers it. I’ll probably listen to this again for fresh nostalgia value.

Path To Your Grave gave me such strong KSE vibes, I felt chills the first time I heard the tremolo part going into the chorus. I missed that sound so much, it's unreal.
The second half of Lost In The Fall gives me strong KSE/Times Of Grace vibes too, especially at 3:25 onwards where there's a main vocal line going on with a very Adam D-esque backing vocal.
