I think this will be a grower for people. If the wait hadn't been so long, it would feel like a welcome departure, but after a decade I think people wanted classic Darkspace.

I gotta jam this more but didn't get super into it the first time through. Could definitely see this being a grower as said above, we'll have to see

I like what this is doing, but it’s doing that one thing for 47 minutes straight. It’s well-handled but it’s dying for some variety, or just something unique to elevate it. It’s fine but probably not something I’ll return to and I would’ve passed over it if it wasn’t a Darkspace album tbh.

What’s really missing is some *progress*, all we get is like, a vibe, and it’s too symmetrical. The opening vocal samples were interesting and I like the sci-fi glitches and whatnot, but none of it goes anywhere. I’m not necessarily looking for a payoff but…some direction would be nice.

Scuro speaking some wisdom here. I feel the same.

i don't mind the fact it's more of an atmospheric/ambient record but it's just uninteresting. darkspace 3.17 is my fav track from the band and it's a way slower and more atmospheric piece like this one is - and the most memorable parts of that one are the slower bits. difference is it has pacing and this just seems aimless.

wouldn't say it's aimless
but it is their worst imo

I would also say its their "worst" but it still ripz so ahrd.

Still not there for me on 2nd listen. Think it needs a bit more variation? Takes a while to get going and then it just needs to be switched up at a certain point I think

Still digging this a lot. Perhaps more vocals could be nice, like I could totally imagine something Attila Csihar-alike stuff. That worked really well for Sunn O))), and this is also very ambience-oriented stuff. But it's also excellent as it is.
