I could, but at the same time couldn’t do 14 songs all instrumental. The two guest feats really helped break that up. Could’ve used one more in part I.

I’d totally be down and now want a full album with at least half the songs having a guest feat. Maybe the entire thing.

my initial understanding of the 2-part album announcement was that part 1 would be all instrumental and part 2 would feature a vocalist on every track

i thought that was why they divided them

Full combined listen is a goodun, about as good of an album as their previous (and just as long)

i think we may be forced to admit that there was no good artistic justification for splitting it up, and that they just felt pressured to put out new music as soon as possible

Enjoying part 2 so far, only track I'm struggling with is Crystal X, the scratch effect seems out of place I keep expecting Mike Shinoda to jump in

I thought I read a comment on an Instagram

Post or saw somewhere that the reason they spilt it up is because they had the whole album done last summer but they couldn’t get the vinyls pressed and the physical release until now…but they had all the songs finished and didn’t want fans to have to wait all they way until March 2024 so they released half in September and waited until they could get the physical release out to give the other half.

I don’t think they intended it to be two separate albums or even a two part album. Look to last summer sometime I believe the band came out and said that. For everyone scratching their heads at the release strategy.

I really like the slow groove Aric's got going on at the end of Crystal. I call it the drunk drummer

Lol yeah Night Verses drumming so goddamn smooth and complex, imo often the apex of their musical in general. Intro to 8 Gates is especially cavernous and satisfying.
