I've jammed through Pornography so far and this is easily my favorite Cure right now.

Charlotte sometimes got me into the band actually. It was like that nice blend of the hollow faith sound with the crushing bleakness of pornography

it's not a cop out, some people just grossly underestimate the impact of production and mixing on music and think that if it doesnt all sound a certain way then surely it must be a mistake and not a conscious decision

not that im implying all production is perfect and deliberate, or that ppl dont sometimes record on subpar equipment but cmon

No idea what youre trying to say. Some death metal bands use clicky kick drums. Doesnt matter whether they meant it to be clicky or not, i still hate typewriter drums.

yeah, because clicky drums are bad in death metal. they could be good in other kinds of music though i cant remember off the top of my head if i know any such example for this particular case
