Leave you are far out numbered and if you vote against this review you are done. Actually don't neccessarily leave, just post more intelligently. Now that that is out of the way... It is ironic that this album was gonna be like Trivium's MoP (according to them), but if you go look at reviews of MoP they are all like 5's with few exceptions and this is well...the opposite (this is assuming that some fanboy will soon submit a track by track lacking majory detail giving this a 5). Just made me laugh thinking of that. This Message Edited On 10.11.06

I have to say IMHO that i actually enjoyed this album alot. Even though I maybe one the only people to say this but its is much better than their last album. Heafy's vocals have improved but could use some more work on range. I do agree it does have a hint of hetfield but after a while you don't notice it unless you listen for it. Last but not least the crusade is a good instrumental and nothing should be taken away from it.

Could you think that Trivium is just doing it for the money? I didnt like the single all too well, and their last album didnt spark too much interest in me, either.

It's quite evident that they aren't doing it for the money.

It sounded like a rather directionless collection of riffs to me.

Also I don't think these guys are hogging the spotlight sort of speak at RR, I mean Dragonforce has been a very big push and also KSE is probably going to get a bigger push when their new album comes out. Even if you don't like this band for whatever reason you may have you just cannot justify a 1 rating and be taken seriously as a respectable reviewer. These guys have talent a 1 does not represent that to anyone especially to people who look to these reviews as a gateway to a new band.

I really cannot tell the difference between this band, and say a dozon others that get respect on the site. Maybe I have no ear for metal, w/e, decent album any way.

I've read an article where Matt Heafy described some of these songs on here as "technical death metal similar to Cynic" and "songs that sound like Def Leppard". He's an idiot.

There is a huge difference between having talent and being able to use it. Bland riffs, uninspired leads, and poorly put together songs do not show a lack of talent, they show a lack of song writing. That is why people with "talent" hang out in guitar shops all day and shred. Remember, talent does not always mean good.

I don't think uninspired leads could be used as a justification for this album getting a mere 1 out of 5 which would mean this album is worse than a majority of the acts out there which is untrue. Also the solo in unrepentant is quite inspired and good.

Knew that was coming.

If they have talent, they should use it. Talent is not an excuse for making a shitty album, either. I don't care who a band is, regardless of how talented or skilled they are, if they make an album that sucks, then the album deserves a low rating.

Besides, this is a rating of the album, not the band. I'm not sure why you're getting the two confused. This Message Edited On 10.11.06

Why is it untrue? Because you say it? Everyone has their own views on things my friend, and what one may love another may hate.

This is true, the only reason why I have posted is because it seems that sometimes when people state that they liked this album they get bashed or get labeled a "fanboy". I was just speaking my point of view. Also, at least this is better than the generic metalcore crap that everyone seems to hate and most of those albums get higher than a 1. I also would like to add that I don't hate this review, I actually thought it was well written, I just disagree thats all.

This album sucks, but I agree that a score of 1 is a bit too harsh. There are a ton of albums out there that I would rather listen to than this one. But then again, I would rather listen to this album than a lot of other crap that gets put out. Nice review though.

We say that about people who back up their stances with noobish "Trivium rocks, you guys suck!" explosions.

While we're at it, why not compare death metal to pop punk? This was intended to be a metal album, so it's rated as a metal album. Why compare it to another genre? This Message Edited On 10.12.06

Metalcore is a subgenre of metal. They are all under the same catagory.
