I know people are going to hate me for saying this but I think this album rocks.... I admit it takes time to get behind this album and yes it would be fair to say that you have to want to like this band and album - but after that initial pain barrier its good and worth it.

these guys had so much potential, but they blew it all on the mainstream.
Trivium suck, plain and simple. it annoys me that most metalheads i know that live around me like them.

So about people's hate for the "James Hetfield" vocals.... have you ever noticed that Matt Heafy's natural voice is scarily close to James Hetfield's natural sounding voice? Honestly if I heard audio of those 2 having a conversation I might not know who is who. That's why his singing sounds like Hetfield. I don't think it's fair to critisize someone for doing something that he has no control over

Couldn't listen to anything on this album without my ears bleeding -- the band is better off with screaming + clean vocals. I actually liked the clean vocals on songs like The Deceived from Ascendancy, but this Metallica copy on The Crusade is just bad.This Message Edited On 02.05.09

Yeah this was def. a disappointment. There was so much hype for these guys for this album and it basically flopped. I do like a few songs but i think Shogun is a lot beter.
