The HIM appearance in The Byronic Man is so awesome, despite how bad HIM is.

I too love Byronic Man, for some sentimental reasons other than it's just an awesome song.
This is a pretty solid effort, but I feel that Dani and crew have did way better in the past.
That goes without saying. I doubt they'll release anything soon that will surpass Midian or Damnation and a Day.

Great review, I just picked this album up today and it's pretty damn good.
I've been getting really into black metal these days, and yes, I know COF isn't considered black metal anymore but they sound evil enough to me. I think alot of my interest in black metal now is due to the fact that the quality of the recordings is so much better now than it was 10 yrs ago.
I'm trying to find Dimmu Borgir's re-release of StormBl?st but am not having much luck so far in the indy shops. I'm really into melodic thrash as it's my fav sub genre of metal, so based off of that what black metal bands could you reccomend?
I also just got the new Anaal Nathrak which is an amazing, skull fucking, soul swallowing piece of work...not something I would normally listen to but it's got such a unique sound to it..it's sonically brutal.

I have yet to figure out if I should get "Nymphetamine" or their new album. Based on your comments, this album is just a better "Nymphetamine". The only two albums I have are "Midian" and "Cruelty and the Beast". So I have yet to heard their "new sound". I think I'm just gonna jump straight to this album.

This album is definitely worth it. Nymphetamine was undoubtably good, the title track is simply awesome - but I'd have to say they improved slightly with this.
And for all you people, Foetus of a New Day Kicking is definitely the best on here.
Actually, I absolutely love all the tracks from Libertina Grimm to The Foetus of a New Day Kicking

Yeah herostyle, I think you're going to like the sound off of Midian and Cruelty and the Beast better than this, despite how good this is. That's how it went down for me

Well, according to Dani, the former Cover was only a little bit diffrent form this version. He sayd such a thing as: ''The skirt of the girl was less big'' or something like that. I don't know were i read that, but i think i did :D
I really do think too that MIDIAN is their best album. Thornography remains a hard-to-describe-album for me. I kind of like it... Maybe, and i can know it because i own all the cralde albums, even Lovecraft and Live Bait. XD This Message Edited On 01.14.07

I personally like this albuym the most along with Midian. Their style is so diffrent between those two albums, but I love them both equally.

Libertina Grimm is such a lame song. Its the only song ive heard off this, so I cant rightly say the album sucks. But from what I hear it does.

Thanks Eakflanderyof, now I'm really positive I'm not getting this XD

No, if you like any of Cradle's other releases, then i would get this (even though it is kind of different from the other releases.) In fact, i'm wearing my Thornography tour t-shirt right now. There are a couple of downer tracks, but the rest is very good.

I don't like any of the CoF I've heard. :P
