Too academic for my liking, but still, as far as academic albums go, this is one that's kept me coming back.

Accelerando is the Vijay Iyer Trio doing what they do best; interesting, subtle and experimental avant-garde constructions. The instruments are so complimentary in their discussions with each other that even when times are maddened such as 'Little Pocket Sized Demons' there is still accuracy in the delivery of the drums, bass and piano. I love how the Vijay Iyer Trio play off each other so masterfully and make it seem so easy. The album as a whole is balanced, diverse and texturally sound. Each instrument knows where it's supposed to be and I feel they act out their parts masterfully.
