0.0 | Panoptic | September 3rd 12 | The split is opened up by Light Bearer's "Celestium", a 21 minute atmospheric sludge
monolith that proves the band's high compositional talent. The track starts off with
interesting (yet) creepy dark ambient sounds that establish an obscure mood, when the
guitars enter it starts evolving towards a more metallic hardcore-ish section that includes
post-hardcore & crust elements. This elements are used to a careful extent though; just as
Light Bearer jammed on 2011's Lapsus. The more "atmospheric sludge" section (as expected)
invades us later after a relaxing ambient interlude, the riffs are crushing hard & they
reach a dark summit, a crescendo follows [and a decrescendo also] until Celestium comes to
an end. Northless side is more focused on a metallic & crusty hardcore rather than an
atmospheric & post-metallic one, this (however) doesn't means their side is not good;
Northless side is just as enjoyable and it is an excellent (economic) expansion from what
they did on last year's "Clandestine Abuse"
