More blobby/wobbly sounding 3-4 chord tracks and "simple" folk-pop structure that's supposed to
sound "artsy" but sounds more like a highschool band. Mr Harte (now about 40, but still in
"rocker-kid" outfits on his Instagram) has long alluded to serious art - art-films, European
philosophy, his own (false) claims of being a talented multi-instrumentalist. The idea being that
he's so far away (ChCh, New Zealand), that people will presumably take these claims at face value.
Don't! The music - like the earlier sorta Tom Tom Club/dance tracks and jangly/vaguely angular
80s white-guy music from Shocking Pinks is much the same, but more noise, more filler and more
bits of so-so mood music. Because the album isn't really worth listening to, would recommend
getting a few tracks and popping them on a playlist somewhere. Besides that the vocals just aren't
connecting with enough depth or description. Nice drums though!
