Serialism can be totally alienating, but Stockhausen's landmark piece 'Stimmung' proves that though the organisation is immaculate, you can create a piece of stunning beauty. With overtone singers amplified and amplifying each other there's a wonderfully tribal feeling to the whole. The production of this recording is incredibly well-done, in a way few classical music albums accomplish. The human voice in its most stunning and hypnotic form.
