Honestly, I am so happy I got into this while my English class was reading Animal Farm. Musically, the album didn't impress me at first; if not for the clever, stylistic allusions to the book, I would've shunned it. After giving it some growing time, Ribbons and Sugar has become one of the greatest pop-punk pieces I have had the pleasure of listening to. The clapping that leads into The Taming, starting off with a very psyched-out guitar riff, lets the listener know that he or she are in for something huge. Every track is standard punk length, but in cases such as Horse You Rode In On, Epilogue and Counterfeit Language, are able to pull off a level of "epic-ness." Through very creative, and in some cases, unorthodox, instrumentation, along with articulate and extremely sly lyrics, GAD are able to suck you into Orwell's twisted Communist-farm world.
