Six years since their last affair, Impellitteri return(s) with yet another solid album of melodic metal. The rhythm section is tight, Rob Rock(s)!!!), whereas Chris Impellitteri is impressive as usual in his guitar shredding endeavors. Despite being entertaining, Venom sounds derivative with respect to previous Impellitteri albums, whereas the exact repetition of some ideas in several songs, and the compressed sound (the heavy-by-design guitars could sound way livelier and heavier), detract further merit from it.
